epiChat is a real-time communication platform designed exclusively for girls and women (16+) to practice spoken and written English in a safe, supportive community. By joining, you confirm you are female and at least 16 years of age.
2. Eligibility
• You must be female and at least 16 years old to use epiChat.
• By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.
• If you are under 18, please ensure a parent or guardian is aware of your participation.
3. Community Rules — Safe Space Policy
epiChat is a zero-tolerance platform for harassment, bullying, or inappropriate content. You agree to:
- Treat every member with kindness and respect
- Never share personal identifying information (full name, address, school, phone number) in public chat
- Not share or request sexually explicit, violent, or harmful content
- Not impersonate other users or public figures
- Not use abusive, hateful, or discriminatory language
- Report any behaviour that makes you or others feel unsafe
4. Privacy & Data
• epiChat does not require you to create an account with an email or password. Your display name is the only identity required.
• Chat messages are stored temporarily in server memory and are lost when the server restarts. No messages are permanently stored in a database.
• Uploaded files are stored on the server for session use. We do not share your data with third parties.
• Your country is detected automatically from your device's language settings for display purposes only.
5. Audio & Video Calls
• Video and audio calls use end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer (WebRTC) technology.
• Always get verbal consent before recording any call.
• Recording calls without consent may be illegal in your jurisdiction.
6. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you share on epiChat. By sharing, you grant epiChat a temporary, non-exclusive license to display that content to other users in the platform.
7. Moderation & Enforcement
epiChat reserves the right to remove content or disconnect users who violate these terms without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in a permanent IP ban.
8. Disclaimer
epiChat is provided "as is" for English practice purposes. We are not responsible for the content shared by users. Use the Report button to flag inappropriate behaviour.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of epiChat means you accept any updated terms.
